Maithri Mahotsavam

"The 'Maithri Mahotsavam' is an annual motherly harmony gathering organized by the People's Movement for Peace, which works towards achieving sustainable peace in all areas of violence-free Kannur. The Maithri Mahotsavam held on December 30, 2024, also celebrated the eighth anniversary of the People's Movement for Peace, and was inaugurated by Honourable Minister Ramachandran Kadannappalli. The event, where various religious leaders spoke, concluded with a musical performance featuring devotional songs from different religions. On the second day there was cultural programs, peace rally and public discussion on peace and non-violence and a painting session named art for peace.

DIASPORAS FOR PEACE

People’s Movement for Peace has organized a meeting on 08th April 2024 near the old bus stand Kannur to evaluate the acts of violence and the bomb blasts and also one death has taken place in the Kannur district.The meeting was inaugurated by the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce President Mr.T.K Rameshkumar. P.Satish Kumar precided the meeting. NYP National Secretary Karail Sukumaran, Mahatma Mandiram President EVG Nambiar, Adv.  Binoy Thomas, Haridas Mangalassery, Mr. PK Premarajan, Mr. Rajan Theiya Reth, Fr. Sunny Thottapalil, Shameel Inchikal, Mrs. Shaida Praveen, Prof. Sarala Teacher, Mr. Sajevan Maniyath, Nandu G Nambiar, Mr. Ramdas Kathirur, Mr. K. Chandrababu,  Sreejaya Chandra Warrier, Mrs. Rama G Nambiar etc. spoke.  Then the workers lit the Shanti Deepam for the eternal peace of Kannur.

IFTHAR MEET

The ifthar friendly meeting has been held at Payyannur Ananthashram under the auspices of People’s Movement for Peace and Yuva Vikas Kendra. Rajmohan Unnithan was the special guest. Peoples such as P. Satish Kumar, Karayil Sukumaran etc delivered speech.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE PEACE

A seminar was conducted by People’s Movement for Peace at The North Malabar Chamber of Commerce of 2nd Feb 2024 based on the topic “Development progress through sustainable peace”. The seminar was conducted ahead of the Loksabha election 2024 to create a peaceful atmosphere in the Kannur district.
